Ride Safe is available to all levels of rider from those just starting out to more experienced riders. There are four levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. The Silver Ride Safe Award has the greatest focus on riding safely on the road. All candidates working towards professional BHS qualifications are required to complete the Silver Ride Safe Award.

Delivering Ride Safe
Requirements and Training for delivering Ride Safe

To deliver Ride Safe you must be a BHS Stage 3 Coach or hold an equivalent qualification, and you must receive training from a Ride Safe Advisor.
If you have never delivered Ride Safe before we advise this training is done in person. You can search for a Ride Safe Advisor on our Find a Coach or Groom page. Once you have completed this training you will hold the title ‘Ride Safe Trainer’.
To keep your knowledge current in this area you are required to attend refresher training with a Ride Safe Advisor every three years, this can be a combination of online and in person training.
You will need to purchase the Ride Safe booklets and provide these to your clients as part of the course. You will receive the certificates with the booklets and you will also receive the Ride Safe Guide when purchasing Silver Ride Safe. You can buy your booklets here.
Once your clients have achieved the Silver Ride Safe Award, please fill in the Achievement Tracker Form so we have a record their achievement. This is especially important for those intending to take BHS professional qualifications.
