If you are looking for a coach or a groom, search through the BHS register of qualified individuals for the reassurance that you are accessing an accredited professional.
APCs must meet and maintain the highest professional standards within the industry, which includes:
- Qualifications range from BHS Stage 3 Coach in Complete Horsemanship up to a Fellow of the British Horse Society, or equivalent
In addition to their coaching skills they are also:
- Current in first aid and safeguarding training
- Criminal record checked relevant to their country of residence
- Insured for public liability, grooms insurance, care custody and control, and personal accident
- Constantly updating and developing their skills and knowledge by committing to annual Continual Professional Development (CPD)
- Abiding to the BHS APC Code of Conduct
